Candidates
Interstate/Overseas
So you want to work in Australia? The internet has been changing the nature of job seeking and has the potential to break down international boundaries. However, getting a visa to work in Australia may be more difficult than finding your dream vacancy! If you don't have the right to work in Australia but you're determined to migrate, then do your research and engage a specialised migration consultant. In the interim, we have outlined below some information to point you in the right direction.
Interstate - Things To Consider:
- Even though we are based out of Perth, Western Australia, our consultants work with many national companies which means we regularly recruit in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide for our clients.
- If you are seeking to relocate to another State, then contact us to discuss your options! Many of our clients are willing to offer relocation assistance to the right candidates.
- If you are considering living and working in Perth, then you must visit www.countrywide.com.au and www.westernaustralia.com.
Currently Overseas? Things To Consider:
- Where do you want to work in Australia? Various cities offer different things from sporting interests, to lifestyle, to career opportunities, etc. Please visit the following websites for further information about your preferred city:
- Do you qualify for sponsorship and what's involved? Depending upon the type of position, you will need a certain amount of skills and years of experience, together with tertiary qualifications to qualify for sponsorship by a prospective employer. We recommend you visit the Australian Department for Immigration at www.dimia.gov.au for further information and advice.
- Wages for top technical positions can be considerably less than in the United States or parts of Europe, but the cost of living is lower and the pace more relaxed. The Australian culture offers a work / lifestyle balance like no other country can! With our famous beaches and glorious weather, it's a fantastic country to live and work. Check out these websites for further information on Australia's culture and features: www.about-australia.com and www.australia.com.
- How do I get more help? The Australian government bureaucracy can be complicated. Even with the comprehensive information on Australian government websites, it can sometimes be difficult to tackle alone. We recommend that you seek the services of an independent and registered migration consultant or speak with a representative with DIMIA. DIMIA recommends you use a registered migration agent which belong to the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) and are required to meet strict criteria which includes fair business practice and compliance within the rules. Remember it is illegal for an agent to guarantee the success or timeline of a visa application.
