About This Project
The Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), a $1.76 billion tertiary greenfield facility located on a 20-hectare, landscaped site, is the largest public health infrastructure project undertaken in Australia to date. Opening in September 2013, GCUH has created an innovative, sustainable environment for health care provision into the future. Purpose-built, it offers a range of more complex services than ever before available to the region. Comprising a total floor area of over 175,000m2, it includes an integrated Clinical Services Building, 50-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Paediatric Ambulatory Care Services, hot floor for Intensive Care and Surgical Services, a Pathology and Education Building, 72-bed Mental Health Unit, comprehensive Cancer Care Centre and Retail Precinct.
